old folks' homes

Yesterday I went to a circuits class but didn't play squash in the morning because Mary, my opponent, couldn't play. On Wednesday I played squash but it was a rubbish game - Michael, my opponent, smashed his finger early in the game and couldn't grip the racket properly. So it wasn't one of our better games. I missed the circuits class in the evening because I had to work late. Work sucks.

Yesterday I also went to an old folks' home for work. #bleak. I've been to a few lately and I find old folks' homes depressing - they get you thinking. I don't want to end up in an old folks' home. I want to be active so I can be independent until I expire.

My Dad spends a lot of his spare time thinking up theories. These theories are very hit and miss. Some are ridiculous. For instance, he sleeps a lot and has concluded it is because he has 'tired blood'. One of his better theories is that if people don't exercise during adulthood they will be ok until their 60s but then it will start to affect their health. My Dad is is in his 60s and still plays squash and gets clean bills of health from the doctor every time. My Mum walks a lot and gets similar results. Fingers crossed these bills of health continue. My Dad has come to his health conclusion from looking around at the people he knows and knew and considering the evidence.

I should get my results today for my end of year biology exam. Fingers crossed for that too.
