Follow Carl, Kerry and Lisa and feel inspired by our physical (and probably, spiritual) transformation. In a year's time, we'll be changed. We won't be the same. We're gonna have kickin' bods.

Well done Carl
... for single handedly waving the Bods flag. Me and Lisa have been well rubbish. I have read through your posts and yo - I can dig it. Re. the hands up in meetings - i do this. I always put my hand up and wiggle about excitedly. It annoys everyone but amuses me
Back on the BODS wagon
Yo.
So I fell off the junk food wagon and descended into a pit of no exercise. But I have arisen. If Mary and the gang were to roll back the rock today they would not find me there, for I would be out running. I ran down Walthamstow high street and around the streets. Go me.
I have also uploaded this pic as my McBook Air desktop pic as inspiration: Enjoy. Dunno who she is.

early bods results
Thursday I did squash drills on my own. Which is a lot like playing football against a wall when you're a kid. Then I went out & got drunk.
Friday I had the hangover jitters which wasn't pleasant & quite intense but I went to circuits in this evening & that helped. Titus wanted to party but I was steadfast in my refusals.
Yesterday I continued the spring clean of Titus' flat so no #bods. In the evening I went out & (this is the point of this update) a friend of my friend remarked without any prompting that I looked like if been doing a lot of BMF.
This morning I went to Pilates & then the cycle machine one. I sweated a lot but all on the chest & not really on the legs which was a little surprising. I am now having a coffee.#lastbodstandjng

bods has lost momentum.
Hi. Bods update:
No squash - no league games and people away put pay to that.
Tuesday = circuits.
Wednesday = body pump.
Thursday = nothing in the end (decided instead to embark on the beginnings of a spring clean at chez Titus.I don't know how much further I'll get.It will depend on Titus herself when she gets home from her hols maƱana).
Friday = circuits.
observation = It is harder to make myself go to classes on weeks when I play no sport. I need the sport most of all.

Quick Bods Update
Tuesday was power pump at the gym. Wednesday was frustrating because I was at work working for 12 hours with no break.
Thursday was squash v Competitive Mary in the morning & some circuits in the evening.
Tonight I had another circuits class. Tomorrow is a16 mile walk - Appledore to Rye. There's got to be sone orchards to scrump a few apples surely. Also there is a jazz festival & some good pubs in Rye so we're staying there into the evening for drinks.
Disxovery of the week is that I found a good way to brighten up long & boring meetings. When you want to speak in the meeting, rather than just interrupting or waiting your turn like most people do, try putting your hand up really high, moving about in your chair eagerly and fidgeting excessively like a keen school kid that definitely has the best answer. It is best used when you either have the best answer or you need to provide a sarcastic response to a crap idea.
It is probably my best idea since Monday. I fully recommend you try it.I know I will definitely be doing it again.

Pausing TV to fast forward adverts is a superb feeling / It is sad to see this Cesc
I just cooked a nice dinner. Titus couldn't finish it because she had earlier slammed and rammed 140 grams of salt and vinegar chipsticks into her mouth in the space of about 5 minutes.
Bods update:
Saturday
Football on Saturday was fun. Us v a gang of teens. I was fast on the one on ones and fifty-fifties against the teens - I think I got to the ball first every time. In view of both this and Friday's circuits class slowness, it appears I need to be chasing after a ball to be fast. Like a dog.
We played for 3 hours. It was awesome.
Sunday
Yesterday I decorated and used Titus' hula hoop. Getting tone in the stomach zone.
Monday
I played squash at lunch but I decided against gym classes this evening. I was feeling stiff, plus I can't work at home tomorrow.
Phrase of the day: "This is some bawl-shit."

I run a tighter ship than Titus
I was out run by the yoot at circuits class yesterday. It has been tough to take! Titus is having one of her dreams come true this weekend - she is on a stag weekend.Therefore it is just me and the ok cat (the shit cat has been moved on).I think ok cat likes it when it is just me and ok cat. Bods update - Today I am playing football. Did 50 press ups, some sit ups and a go on Titus' hula hoop this morning after waking up.

Yo homies
So this week began well, gym on Monday followed by swimming on Tuesday. I really love swimming, I am not the best at it but I used to go all the time when I was a kid, so when I walk into the gym and the smell of the pool hits me, I always get a sense of excitement. Of course, this is less fun than when I was a kid, there are no flumes and no wave machines. I am going to try to increase the amount of swimming I do I think. It is something I enjoy and feel I can improve on. First time I went I did 400 meters - that's 8 lengths of Crystal Palace's olympic size lengths, this time I did 500 in twenty minutes. I am no fish that's for sure but I'm gonna keep at it. I enjoy the all over ache I get from it too, I feel like it's doing me good.
Yesterday I met a friend for drinks in the evening so there was no /#activity but I did walk a fair bit, plus I left my phone at work so had to walk up the 60 stairs to my office again. Every bit counts yo.
I've not lost any weight yet but already I feel better, I feel like my tummy is getting smaller and I am getting muscles in my arms that I keep getting people to feel. It's no wonder I am single sometimes when I do things like that.

BUSTED THUMB BODS
I busted my thumb playing squash today. I hit it into a wall. It is very swollen. It is my left thumb so I can still play squash but may have trouble doing press ups for a few days for my bod. Squash was ok but Michael (my opponent) is off form at the moment so it wasn't as intense as usual. I will be playing a new guy called Andy tomorrow. Andy is slow at replying. I will also go to circuits class in the evening.
Many coins fell out of my bag onto a man's head on the train home tonight. The man took it well. He reckoned it would bring him much fortune. He looked like a Musketeer.

Weekend mess up #blobs
So due to a bit of a meh date on Friday and Carl getting a ridiculous 88% in his exams, we decided to get blasted on Friday night. This was disastrous for Carl as he is older so slept from 4.30 am - 8am, I cooked us some good breakfast and he returned to his bed at 11am - 4.30pm. He was a zombie who then went back to bed a few hours later. I got up early and some friends came over to help me do some bits on my flat. It was quite a momentous day for me actually, I became the proud owner of my own hose. It has several nozzles for different water effects - quite magical. So if ever you need to borrow a hose and can't think of who might be mature enough to own one - you can now ask me. I can't promise anything but you can ask.
I was active on Saturday, Sunday came and I meant to go swimming but I awoke with a terrible headache, Carl was in a bad mood because of his good exam result - he decided to decorate his room and so did that pretty much all day. I cooked a big roast dinner and had a friend round.
No exercise though.
Tonight, the gym. Tomorrow, I swim. Think I need to plan some weekend walks to ensure I keep on an even keel at weekends.

Effed up this weekend
Well, drank too much all weekend, did no exercise and ate crap. This is not going to get me the #bod I desire.
Tomorrow I gym and I am going to ask Kate to do some yoga with me after all.
Gonna have some time off the booze now - fags are going this week too.

old folks' homes
Yesterday I went to a circuits class but didn't play squash in the morning because Mary, my opponent, couldn't play. On Wednesday I played squash but it was a rubbish game - Michael, my opponent, smashed his finger early in the game and couldn't grip the racket properly. So it wasn't one of our better games. I missed the circuits class in the evening because I had to work late. Work sucks.
Yesterday I also went to an old folks' home for work. #bleak. I've been to a few lately and I find old folks' homes depressing - they get you thinking. I don't want to end up in an old folks' home. I want to be active so I can be independent until I expire.
My Dad spends a lot of his spare time thinking up theories. These theories are very hit and miss. Some are ridiculous. For instance, he sleeps a lot and has concluded it is because he has 'tired blood'. One of his better theories is that if people don't exercise during adulthood they will be ok until their 60s but then it will start to affect their health. My Dad is is in his 60s and still plays squash and gets clean bills of health from the doctor every time. My Mum walks a lot and gets similar results. Fingers crossed these bills of health continue. My Dad has come to his health conclusion from looking around at the people he knows and knew and considering the evidence.
I should get my results today for my end of year biology exam. Fingers crossed for that too.

Swimming, Vasquez & Connor
Did some lengths of Ross's pool today but mainly played.
Also got pics taken of bod as it stands (not kicking).
Watched Aliens and was taking some tips from Vasquez on having a kickin bod and killing aliens. She's too muscly though. And we reckon she takes the 'roids. I definitely want the Linda Hamilton bod from T2.

Run Lisa run
Those of you that know me know that I can organise well when I need to, but can also be a complete blonde dumbarse at the same time. After yesterday's key escapades which meant that I pretty much had a day off exercising I was definitely going to the gym this evening. I did walk from the station to my flat - which is no mean feat if you know the hills of Crystal Palace.
So today I got to the gym, music all ready, really needing a wee - so I grabbed all my stuff and ran into the gym. I must have looked so eager to be there. I get changed and then realise i've left all my change and my water in the car. I couldn't be arsed to go out of the gym and back so decided to just go for a run around the park instead. I was pretty shit to be honest, ran for a minute and a half, then walked for a minute, then 3 lots of two and a half minutes. I don't mind telling you I was a red, sweaty mess by the end. When I got home I did 3 sets of 10 sit ups, I had done two lots this morning - then polished off with five minutes of hula hooping.
Here'/'s a picture of my red sweaty face to prove the burn. After I took this photo I seemed to sweat a lot more but I didn't bother taking a picture of that. Maybe next time, if you're lucky.

Kayaking around the world
After 1 session I am planning a sea kayaking expedition with my friend Ben. He is the kind of person who requests an axe from father christmas, so it should be fine.
My confidence in my ability to Kayak in the sea (after an hour and a half in a reservoir) is appropriately huge.

Exercise plan for tomorrow - Ross's pool.
Tomorrow morning I am going to do day 2 of my Couch to 5K app AND then I'm going to Ross's house to swim in his pool (and have a bbq - I'm taking fish and veg to make it healthier).
YES.
YES.
Car key failure.
So today has not been the best day as i've lost my car key. This means that I would have had to carry my gym stuff to work - I am now planning on going home, looking for the key and going for a run this evening.
I really really really hope I can find my key. Really.

Day 1 of running
I've downloaded a Couch to 5K app.
Am a bit scared of going out because I hate running and can't breath. Most of day 1 is walking anyway with 1 min runs so should be ok.

Lets Gee Ohh (that's how Vanilla Ice said 'Lets 'GO' in his movie)
Hi Bods,
INTRODUCTION
This is my first post. It has been an roller coaster of a ride since I came up with the idea of #bods Saturday past. It was an incredible idea. An idea I was happy to share with some of my close friends. It felt like the early days of my band 'The Saudi Royal Family' - that feeling that together we were going to change the world.
However, in the last day or so I have been mysteriously side-lined from the #bods project and have been accused of lacking commitment to #bods. I feel a little bit like the rowing twins from the social network film!
I intend to show commitment from now on.
I will rant quite a bit in this blog and I apologise in advance for this...Actually I will put my rants in italics so you can avoid those bits. I would avoid those bits. It has been years since I last wrote my thoughts out, so I won't be very good at making them read entertaining.
ABOUT ME
I am 5'8.5" tall (I was measured at the Royal Society so its 100% accurate). I weigh 10.8 stone. I am swift and resourceful and Michael Faraday is a new hero of mine. To my mind, it feels like it could only be a good thing if every British state-school child was taught about Michael Faraday and what he did with his life.
ACTIVITY
I have had a quiet 2 days exercise-wise (it was my birthday yesterday) but for posterity here is a log of what I have been up to:
MONDAY 4 AUGUST
Exercise: 60 press ups. 50 crunches. 1 minute of planking.
Food: No Meat. Lots of carbohydrates.
RANT: Anybody who says people should reduce their carbohydrate intake is both a charlatan and a helmet. If they weren't a helmet they would be instructing people to reduce their meat intake instead (in my mind anybody who tells any adult to do anything - even if at the start they mean well - is either a charlatan or a helmet or some or every other part of a prick including the balls and the sack). I was taught this year (by the lecturers at my college and my biology textbooks that also explained the evidence) that the fact is that people need just 50 - 60 grams of meat per day:
Meat is needed because of the 20 amino acids that there are, our bodies can't synthesis 8 of them (the 'essential amino acids'). So we must get them from our diet. Animal protein is the best protein. In contrast, carbohydrates are polymers (multiples) of glucose and glucose is what your body runs on. If you don't believe me and you can be bothered to - watch some videos from khan academy or other online educators about cellular respiration.
So don't be a twat with your life and don't listen to all this unnecessary hysteria in the media about sugar. If the media was truly playing the role of our time-saving friend and was there to inform us and help us out and benefit our lives and aid and push things forwards, it would distinguish between 'sucrose' and 'sugar' and then give us the evidence why we should avoid sucrose. Then we would use our highly-developed reasoning skills to decide whether or not we want to avoid sucrose. The media only behaves like this because, like Kurt V said, these are still the dark ages and we just can't seem to find our way out of these dark ages.
TUESDAY 5 AUGUST
Exercise today:
50 press ups.
20 minutes lying in the 'constructive rest' position advocated by the Alexander Technique. I found it is a good aid for good posture and is also relaxing for my mind.
Food: A birthday dinner of beef stew. It was properly delicious.
That is all for now. Tomorrow I am playing squash and going to a bootcamp gym class and things are similar on Thursday.

Two swimmers #bods
Today I was off work, so went for a swim at Crystal Palace pool, I did 400m - I used to LOVE swimming as a kid, as an adult i'm not exactly the best or the fastest - but I still enjoyed it. Considering paying the extra £15 a month to be able to go to ALL things at the gym.
What I really want to have a go on is the big trampolines, but i'd like to have a go on my own, with no one else there so I wouldn't somehow show myself up. Carl informs me it's only the kids that get to use the trampolines. FFS.

Just went to the gym. It was a LOT harder than last time, no idea why. I mixed it up with cardio and some strength training. I did no where near as much as the hard bods near me, but I did break into a big sweaty red mess, so that's gotta count for something right?
Gonna do some more hula hooping tonight as it's not exactly hard and I can do it in the comfort of the living room.
Tomorrow I am off work, so going to go for a swim.

Inspiration from my mum
Picked up a book in Waterstones on getting fit today..
Mum: It's for people with diabetes...
Me: I haven't got diabetes.
Mum: Not yet, but you might..

STATS, Yo
Weight = 14 st 9 lbs
Height = 5 ft 4
Smokes = 20 a day
Running ability = Can't run or breath
Height = 5 ft 4
Smokes = 20 a day
Running ability = Can't run or breath
The past is done, we can only change the future.
Current stats 5 foot 7 - 12 Stone 2. Aim same height = 10 Stone.
I quit smoking in December 2013, and i've never exactly been a big fan of exercise. Plus I love cheese, cider & crisps. Not a recipe for a kickin bod. If it was, i'd be well fit.
When I weighed myself a few months back I was shocked to see weight had come on - but not THAT shocked as my clothes stopped fitting and I didn't think I had shrunk my entire wardrobe... so I started running - quite enjoyed that but stopped again when I went on holiday. Plus I felt self concious running around the roads of Palace. I was even getting up at 6am. #dedication. I have since bought a skipping rope that i've not used once - and as of last week a hula hoop which i'm actually enjoying. I have a gym membership, i've been eating healthily, walking a lot more - and so THINGS ARE COMING INTO PLACE.
Basically I want to look good naked, that's the aim - and get into different habits/activities that will naturally enable me to eat crisps when I want and still look good naked.
I've been repping with my dumbells, tonight is gym time, laying off the booze until tomorrow... well it's Carl's birthday so it would be wrong not to have a glass of wine with the dinner i'm making...
OH and I have restarted my myfitnesspal.com to keep an eye on my calorie intake.
Hopefully, writing in a blog will help me stick to my goals and encourage me to keep going. #bods

Today - Long distance walking @ Bluewater
Bluewater has been open 15 years (I read that on a sign today) and I still can't find the shops I want. I dragged my mum there to help me find one of them velcro straps to hold my iPod so I can blast Kenny G while I'm runningn- Sweaty Betty wanted £30! Jog on SB! Anyway, I did loads of walking and only helped myself to the free cinnamon pretzel tray once (no bits of bread and oil today outside Vom Fass either - KICKIN BOD).
Hope that's inspired you all? How have you changed today?

Beginnings and Inspirations.
Carl, what music inspires you to be the best Carl that you can be? I know that, for me, nothing makes me want to sweat more than Kenny Loggins and Survivor. It makes me want to become a well oiled machine like Linda Hamilton in T2. That's my inspiration. Mainly to have my face licked by one half of a set of twins in a mental institution.
